It occurred to me of late that 2023 has been a busy year, and we filled your inbox with fewer emails than we have in some time. Sorry, and you’re welcome! This was an amazing year of piping personally, with the opportunity to work with an excellent youth pipe band. The Conservatory of Performing Arts Pipe Band had a very fun trip to the Georgetown Highland Games in Ontario in June, plus a number of other performances at local competitions and festivals.

The 78th Highlanders, Halifax Citadel had an excellent series of contests, finishing 2^nd overall at Maxville, including winning drumming in the medley circle. For the second year in a row, I managed to get to The Glenfiddich Championships at Blair Castle in beautiful Perthshire. It was an excellent day of piping all round with congratulations going to Callum Beaumont on his overall win, and to Alex Gandy for winning the MSR. It was fantastic to hear all the performances ... a great day of music.
