Chesney Cane Bass

Chesney cane bass reeds are made with a thicker barrel. This design enables the bass reeds to produce a deeper and more reasonant sound with the added benefit that they are very reliable on strike-in.

Chesney Chanters & Reeds are based in Northern Ireland. They have been reedmaking for 42 years and Chesney chanters and reeds have been played to win multiple World Pipe Band Championships from Grade 1 to Juvenile.

Managing Director David Chesney has been making reeds for 42 years, and has played in two different Grade 1 World Championship winning bands that played both Chesney Chanters and Reeds. (Field Marshal Montgomery and St Laurence O’Toole). He is currently P-M of the Closkelt Pipe Band
